Employee loyalty tips
There are many benefits to your business in outsourcing certain processes; costs, access to a larger talent pool, allows you to scale quickly etc. However one argument against outsourcing we find is a belief that outsourced employees are less ‘loyal’ to your business. We know this to be wrong.
With a staff turnover rate of just 3% in the past year, Talkr knows how to keep your outsourced team together, engaged and with you for the long term.
4 Tips for Winning Remote Employee Loyalty
Here are 4 tips we have picked up over the years that are proven to help create a more loyal outsourced team.
1. Provide your team with the necessary tools
Your outsourced remote team should have the same communication tools and software to do their job as any other area of your business.
Allow your team access to all the software they need in order to do their job correctly and to communicate internally. Internal communications tools used by employees make it easier for them to connect to one another and your business.
Give your employees a clear direction, providing the ‘why’ reduces the team members' reliance on you to provide input and increases their ownership and motivation.
Give new employees plenty of tasks to do particularly in the first month or so before they are better at managing themselves.
Use a shared resource such as Trello or Monday to easily manage tasks. This way every team member will have a clear view of their daily/ monthly tasks.
2. Make it easy for your team to find out answers
Make communication easy between your teams. Technology, and a new acceptance of working remotely, means there are now ways to easily and virtually meetup, chat and collaborate. Our favourites would be Slack and Miro. These collaboration tools create buy-in for your remote employees as they are always involved and feel part of the team, building that affiliation with your business and their loyalty to you.
3. Measure employee happiness and engagement
It’s important your remote employees know you care, and one great way to do this is to take the time to measure your employee happiness and act on any insights you gain. Creating a forum where you welcome feedback allows your employees to express themselves, inform you of things that you may not be aware of and creates an environment where their thoughts and opinions matter.
4. Listen to your employees
An actionable step to fostering employee loyalty is gathering and acting on employee feedback. This does not mean you do everything your employees feedback to you, but you action what can be actioned and plan and regularly update on what other changes can be made. To foster loyalty, you must make your workplace a space where employees can feel comfortable giving honest feedback.
