Summary: Recorded video interviews have naturally become more and more popular as tools in a company’s recruitment process during the pandemic Here we share why Talkr has no plans to stop using video interviews and what platform we use to manage this.

At Talkr we have been using recorded video interviews for screening all of our candidates for over 6 months now and have found them to be hugely beneficial not only to us but for our clients and candidates as well. Here are a few of those benefits that, you may or may not have realised, come with the use of video interviews.

A CV can only say so much and what they often don’t say is what the candidate's personality is like. For Talkr, getting the right fit candidates for our clients is key and this is why the video interviews can allow the candidates to express themselves in ways they can't on a written CV.

Allows you to review candidates when it suits you. With no set interview time to stick to you can review candidate’s when it suits you best, and you know before you start how long you will need to watch each video so it becomes much easier to plan your day.

Allows candidates to conduct their interview when it suits them. As important as planning your day is that of the candidate. Video interviews means they can easily complete this outside of work hours, no need to get stressed about creating a fake meeting in the diary to talk to a new opportunity and you get to see them in an environment they are relaxed in. This all leads to a better candidate experience, which makes you as a company look good but you also get to see the candidate at their best.

No need for 1 or 2 people to make the decision. Videos can be watched and assessed by as many people as you wish which ensures a more rounded assessment of the candidate takes place.

Makes your business look innovative. Candidates, we feel, are looking for companies that are a bit different and forward thinking and so far we have some great feedback on our use of video interviews. If your recruitment experience is a good one this only looks good on you as a company overall.

Talkr uses MyInterview (www.myinterview.com) as it’s video interview platform. Here we can create and manage job roles, track our candidates as they pass through the various interview stages and keeps all candidate information in the same, easy to use platform.
